Experiments are a sure way to keep you intrigued and educated. From the complex ones to the simpler ones, all will make you believe there is a lot we do not know about. In this simple experiment, all you will need, will be a set of matches and one lit match. After the experiment, you will know exactly what happens when you light 6000 matches at once.
There are six thousand matchsticks.
All you will need will be a set of six thousand matches all arranged cleverly and one lit match stick to add to the number.
Light the matches starting at the furthest corner.
Gradually, you will notice as the fire spreads slowly eating up newer matches.
The fire eats up the matches in front of your eyes.
Fire will soon start to engulf the match sticks slowly.
As the last match of the count gets lit,
Keep a small distance from the fire as it will produce much greater heat after a while.
These matches slowly but surely burn to the core.
Smoke will now be clearly seen as the fire starts to go off.
From the sides, the fire will narrow towards the center of the platform as it quickly dies.
At the center, it will tend not to go off quickly.
Patiently, but slowly the fire appears to die with time.
You will need to give it a few more minutes for the process to complete.
You might think that the burning process is over but…
Only a few seconds later will you see fire again emerging from the slowly burning matches.
Now only one position will appear to get burnt.
Given enough time the fire soon fades away.
At this time, the experiment will have lasted a mere 14 minutes before it is all over.
Now your experiment will be over at this point.
